Cherry Gardens SEN school opened its doors to children and staff in early 2019. DorSuite supported supply chain partners Galliford Try in designing, manufacturing and supplying the internal performance door and screen package.
Cherry Garden’s is an ‘OFSTED’ approved school for pupils with learning difficulties and autism and therefore the DorSuite team had to worked through many specification details to ensure compliance.
In collaboration with architects Hawkins and Brown, solutions were devised including PVC encapsulation for the swimming pool area, brightly coloured laminated fire doors to assist with visability and safehinge to ensure finger trap protection. DorSuite accommodated hoist cut outs, double swing configurations and acoustic ratings of up to 40dB whilst delivering other components such as side screens, fan lights and mirrorpane glass for the classrooms.
