Liverpool Philharmonic Hall
In 2015, Liverpool Philharmonic celebrated its 175th birthday, marking it as the oldest symphony orchestra in the UK and an important part of the city’s heritage. Gilbert Ash were appointed as main contractor to undertake construction and refurbishment works to the existing building on Hope Street, Liverpool and were helped by DorSuite who created the best option for the internal door package. DorSuite also worked closely with the architect Caruso St John to ensure that the doorsets were the perfect solution and fitted the specification. The project had a massive range of doors and ironmongery: veneered, glazed, laminate and primed. Many of the doors had high acoustic ratings and others hosted flush glazing beads.
The new building provides a larger, two storey performance venue. It includes new working areas and support spaces to host a range of performances, workshops and learning events, new changing areas and dressing rooms, new warm up areas, assembly and instrument storage
